*NEW* AHS Update V209 (Of 2025!) - ICU - 187 (+19) of 224 beds occupied in Alberta - Occupancy - 83%. It’s been 980 Days since Danielle Smith said, “HEALTHCARE FIXED IN 90 DAYS!!” That was a BIG lie! Buckle up folks.. this is the AHS update that keeps on kicking! **Note - There was no Dashboard Updates on June 27th as such only confirmed information is posted**
*NEW* The Boyle Emergency Department is now CLOSED until 9am June 30th. ED has been closed nightly from 5pm to 9am since Friday (June 27) due to no physician coverage. EMS/Patients continue to be diverted to Athabasca (45KM), Westlock (110KM), Fort Sask (124KM) or YEG (145KM).
*NEW* The Hinton Hospital Emergency Department will be CLOSED from 9pm TONIGHT (June 29) until 7am June 30th, due to no Emergency Physicians or Locum coverage available. ED has been closed this week nightly from 9pm to 7am since June 23rd. NOTE - Hinton Emergency is a Primary Stroke Center (PSC) for North Zone (22,000sq km!) - This means stroke patients will be diverted to Royal Alex (287KM) or U of A Hospital (292KM) by EMS or Air Ambulance. All other Emergency patients will be diverted to Edson (89KM).
*NEW* The Hardisty Emergency Department remains CLOSED until 7am June 30th. Full weekend closure of the Emergency Department is due to no Physicians/Locums or NPs for Coverage. EMS & Patients will be diverted to Killam (44KM), Wainwright (57KM), Daysland (74KM) or Provost (87KM).
*NEW* The Bow Island Emergency Department, will be CLOSED from 6am June 30th until 7am July 4th. Closure due to no physicians or locums available. During Closure EMS/Patients diverted to Taber or Medicine Hat (42KM). ED Unstaffed during Closure.
*NEW* The Two Hills Emergency Department remains CLOSED until 8am June 30th. ED is Closed Mon-Thurs 10pm to 8am, Friday 5pm to Mon 8am. Closures due to no Physicians. EMS & Patients will be diverted to Vegreville (45KM), St. Paul (59KM), Viking/Lamont (75KM).
*NEW* The Grimshaw/Berwyn & District Health Centre Emergency Department is CLOSED from 7pm to 9am daily. The closest ER's are Peace River (25 km), Fairview (58 km), Manning (83 km), McLennan (100 km), or Spirit River (112KM). Residents asked to call 911 for Emergencies.
*NEW* Beaverlodge Emergency department was closed from 7am to 6pm on June 26th due to no Physician or Locum coverage available. Closest ER for EMS/Patients being diverted is Grande Prairie (42KM)
REMINDER - The Consort's Emergency Department Closure, has been EXTENDED to August 15/25. The ED has been closed for 1,009 days and counting! Hiring Priority is keeping the LTC open! EMS & Patients will continue to be diverted to Castor (85KM), Provost (81KM) or Oyen (102KM)
*NEW* Wainwright Hospital OBGYN Services were CLOSED from 6pm to 11pm on June 23rd & 7pm June 24th to 7pm June 25th. Closure due to no staffing available for unit. Presenting Patients were diverted by EMS to Viking (73KM) or other available OB Units depending on needs of the mom & baby!
*REMINDER* The Stettler Hospital OBGYN Unit is downgraded to Level 1A only until September 30th, 2025. All Non 1A Patients (High Risk/C-Section & Cases requiring epidurals) are diverted to Red Deer (81KM) via EMS. Downgrade in due to no anesthesiologists or physicians available.
REMINDER - Edmonton's Royal Alex Orthopedic Unit continues to see a 'Reduction of scheduled orthopedic surgical cases; reassignment of OR time to other surgical services' until June 30th. AHS/AB Health has refused 2 contract proposals so far to get back to full operations.

Respiratory Update - Updated week of June 15th, 2025 to June 21st, 2025;
Alberta is seeing a significant drop of ILI Cases, but seeing another week of COVID-19 cases staying steady. Calgary & Edmonton have both seen a jump in cases this week reported Covid-19, while South/North & Central seen only a handful of cases.
**NEW** AHS Outbreaks have been confirmed Per Dr. Vipond at Rockyview Hospital, Leduc Hospital, Royal Alex & Misericordia Hospital! AHS has NOT updated the outbreak list, since April 2025..
